In community colleges, Addison believes that self-discovery still matters to those who attend them. Throughout Addison’s essay she points out many reasons as to why Community Colleges are such a decent option. They are easy to get into, and you are able to start immediately with your education. They are also a good opportunity for families in any sort of financial condition. Addison claims â€Å"they offer a network of affordable future, of accessible hope, and an option to dream† (Addison). The learning method is a growing process and the experience reminds students of their potential. Addison explains that a community college is perfect for those who want to stay at home or close to home. Those who didn’t obtain the grades required in order to get into a University may find Community Colleges to be a respectable option. Addison explains that some students are not yet ready to commit to a four year university; therefore community colleges are a good step in the direction of getting ready to go off to a University. Addison argues that â€Å"for some students, from many backgrounds, would never breathe the college experience if it were not for the community college†. A Community College offers students a full college experience without having to go far from home. Addison explains that a Community College is a great organization that helps many people from all different kinds of circumstances. It is a great stepping stone toward completing the education you need to be qualified for an occupation you are satisfied with. At the end of the essay Addison speaks about Mr. Perlstien again, clarifying that he will discover that college does still matter at a Community College.
